Steps

1

Place flour, fine crystal sugar, salt, 30 g butter, yolk and milk into the baking pan. Fill dry yeast into the yeast dispenser. Press Start and knead all ingredients to a smooth dough. Then place into a bowl, cover with cling film and leave for 1 hour in a warm place.

2

Meanwhile, stir remaining butter, cane sugar and gingerbread spice for the filling.

3

Knead the dough on the lightly floured work space with the hands for a short time and divide into four parts. Shape each piece of dough into round pieces and then roll them out thinly with a rolling pin. Each dough should be slightly larger than a dinner plate.

4

Spread a third of the filling onto the first dough and place a second dough on top. Continue to layer the remaining filling and dough in this manner.

5

Place a food plate on top of the layered dough and cut along the edge with a small knife. Remove the dough edge and the plate.

6

Place a small drinking glass in the middle of the round piece of dough and cut it into around 16 parts. (only cut up to the glass) Carefully twist each piece of the dough.

7

Place the Christmas Star Bread onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush with egg white. Bake in your Combi Microwave Oven at 180 °C for 20 minutes until it is golden brown.
