Red spelt flour bread with hazelnuts

This red bread is an eye catcher on any table and immediately gets the conversation going in the beginning of a meal. Due to the hazelnuts inside, the bread has a savoury quality to it which works very well together with the outer crust.

Ingredients

1 tsp dry yeast
400g spelt flour Typ 1050
10g butter
3/4 tsp sugar
1 3/4 tsp salt
50g hazelnuts, roughly chopped
280g beetroot juice

Steps

Roughly chop all the hazelnuts.

Take the bread pan with the kneading blade out of the breadmaker and add in all the ingredients except for the hazelnuts. (top-to-bottom order)

Place the bread pan back into the breadmaker, close the lid, select menu 2 and press start.

When it beeps after around 20 minutes add the hazelnuts.

Carefully sprinkle the dough with some spelt flour around 1 hour before end of baking.

When your bread is done, take it out and let it cool down.

Tip: Prepare a romantic dinner with wine and cheese and serve your tasty savoury bread.
