These homemade pork gyoza are juicy, flavourful, and perfectly steamed to tender perfection. Serve with a tangy, aromatic dipping sauce for an irresistible bite.

900g ground fatty pork
¼ small green cabbage super finely sliced
2 large garlic cloves minced
2 tbsp minced ginger
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
½ bunch chives or spring onions finely chopped
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 package wonton or gyoza wheat wrappers
1 egg lightly beaten
For the Sauce:
1 garlic clove minced
½ inch piece ginger peeled and minced
60ml rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, finely sliced cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chives, salt, and sesame oil. Mix until well incorporated.

Lay out a gyoza wrapper and brush the edges with the beaten egg. Place a small spoonful of filling in the center. Fold the wrapper in half and pleat the edges to seal tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Place the deep pot into the Panasonic Multi-Cooker and fill with 500ml of water. Place the steam plate inside. Adjust the dial so that the manual icon flashes. Press the time button, then turn the dial to 15 minutes (00:15). Press the temperature button and adjust to 100°C, then press Start.

Arrange the gyoza in a single layer in the steam plate, ensuring they do not touch. Cover and steam for 10 minutes until the filling is cooked through and the wrappers are tender.

While the gyoza are steaming, combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves.

Remove the gyoza from the steamer and serve hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
