These light and airy pancakes are made using the classic American-style pancake recipe but are topped with a creamy buttercream icing and festive sprinkles. The perfect alternative to a fussy layered cake for that special someone. Don’t forget to add a candle!

200g powdered sugar | |

Steps

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. |

Make a well in the centre and pour in the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla essence. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix. |

Place the pancake plate on the Panasonic Multi-Cooker, adjust the dial so that the pancake icon flashes, and press Start. Wait for the pancake plate to preheat. |

Lightly grease the pancake plate with butter and pour in small amounts of batter. |

Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown. |

While the pancakes are cooking, make the buttercream icing. In a bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla essence, whisking until fluffy and creamy. Fold in 20 g of birthday cake sprinkles. |

Spread or drizzle the buttercream icing over the warm pancakes and top with 10 g of birthday cake sprinkles. |
