Into the pan of the breadmaker, add the ingredients in the order they are listed. If using the SD-YR2550 or SD-YR2540 models, you can use the Yeast Dispenser functionality for this. |

Select Whole Wheat Dough programme. |

Once the breadmaker has finished, press stop and remove the dough from the breadmaker. |

Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and carefully roll each piece into a rope, approximately 30cm in length. |

Place the ropes next to each other and from the centre, plait from left to right to the end of the ropes. |

Place the loaf on a lined baking sheet, cover and leave to rise in a warm place for around an hour, until doubled in size. |

Beat the egg yolk with the water to create the glaze. |

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving. |
